The Colorado Department of Education recognized the Frenchman School District as a District of Distinction under the state's accountability system.  The evalutions are based on four performance indicators;  academic achievement; academic growth; closing the gaps in growth levels for a variety of historically disadvantaged subgroups; and sucess in preparing students for postsecondary and workforce readiness (based on dropout rates, graduation rates, and scores on ACT college entrance exam).

The Fleming School District develops a secure learning environment where when each student is challenged to maximize his or her individual learning potential in order to meet and exceed state, local, and personal standards; and, as a result of partnerships among students, school, and community, each student learns about responsibility, self-confidence, and individualism preparing the student to become a productive, self-sufficient citizen in an ever changing world.
